Keeneland September passes the 2025 sale total with three days to sell
Keeneland September passed the whole of last year’s twelve day total on Wednesday with three sessions still to sell. Nine days of trade have grossed 511,680,500 dollars from 2,027 yearlings, against the 510,539,900 dollars the auction took through the ring across all of 2025. Hurricane Fly dies at 22 at the Irish National Stud
Hurricane Fly has died at the Irish National Stud aged 22. The son of Montjeu won the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in 2011 and 2013, took the Irish Champion Hurdle five years running from 2011 to 2015, and retired that year with a record 22 Grade 1 wins for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh. Mullins called him one of the greatest horses ever to come through the stable, and Walsh said he was without doubt the best jumper of a hurdle he ever rode (Thoroughbred Daily News)

Winx foals a Too Darn Hot filly at Coolmore
Winx has produced a filly by Too Darn Hot, foaled late on Tuesday night at Coolmore in the Hunter Valley and reported three weeks overdue. It is the third foal for the mare who won 25 Group 1 races and her last 33 starts, after a Pierro filly who made 10 million Australian dollars at Inglis Easter in 2024 and an unnamed Snitzel two year old.
