Turfling

Racing, every morning at 6am.

About

Turfling is a daily brief on horse racing, sent free every morning at 6am. Three editions, one for each hemisphere that matters: America, Europe, Australia. You choose which you get.

Every morning: what happened, what’s coming, and why it matters, in about four minutes. Same shape every day, so you know where to look:

  • Top story. The single biggest thing in your part of the racing world, and why it matters.
  • On the trail. The season’s running storyline. The Travers trail and the Breeders’ Cup in America, the autumn championships in Europe, the spring carnival in Australia.
  • Sales. The auction ring, whenever a sale is live or just closed. Who paid what, and what it says about the market.
  • At the track. What’s actually on today: the card, the going, what to watch.
  • On the calendar. The next date worth knowing.
  • Sourcing note. What was used and what wasn’t. Every issue.

Two kinds of reader, one brief

If you already follow the sport, this is your morning scan: the day’s stories with the why attached, and a serious eye on the sales, which most daily coverage skips.

If you’re new, every term is explained where it lands. And you already have the only skill this needs. A March Madness bracket taught it to you, or a Grand National sweep, or picking a horse out of a hat on Melbourne Cup day: make a pick, find out if you were right.

The pick

One race a week on each continent, the biggest one going. A free call on it, no money and no odds, just your read against everyone else’s before post time. The result leads the next morning’s brief.

Choosing your edition

Sign up once and pick the racing you follow: America, Europe, Australia, or all three. You only get what you asked for, and you can change it whenever you like.

Sourced from official race-day materials, racing authority and racecourse releases, sale results, and our own reporting. No data we don’t have the rights to use.
